Welcome to Otongovi Hereford
Otongovi Hereford was established in 1996. The farm is situated in the Central part of Namibia -
S21 55,733, E017 46,611 .
As long as for 10 years we make use of Canadian and American Hereford semen for Al.
We are taking part in Genomics and furthermore are we participating in the Nett Feed lntake test. We also participate in the ultrasonic scanning program.
As from April 1st 2016 the Namibian Hereford Breeders Society benefits from the monthly Southern Hemisphere Hereford EBV analysis. The Hereford Society of Namibia, Australia and New Zealand, all members of the Breedplan family, will benefit from this. Breeders are now able to determine where they find themselves within the bigger playing field. This analysis included the data of Al bulls from the Northern Hemisphere used within the three (3) participating countries which formerly were not included.
The Otongovi herd has been awarded the 4.5 star rating (out of 5) by Breedplan. We have been the winner of the Cow Group of the year in 2014 and runner-up in the Breedplan Stud Breeder of the year competition in 2014.
